TuneUp accesses your "iTunes Library.xml" file to read and make changes to your music library "iTunes Library.itl file". If either of these files become corrupted or contain errors, TuneUp may experience issues when performing its processes. Please follow the instructions to try rebuilding your music library:
1.) Quit iTunes
2.) Locate your iTunes folder (this is the folder that contains the iTunes Library and iTunes Library.xml files).
Mac OS X: Users > [your username] > Music
PC:
- Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\
- Windows Vista: C:\Users\username\Music\iTunes\
- Windows 7: C:\Users\username\My Music\iTunes\
- Windows 8 & 8.1: C:\Users\username\My Music\iTunes\
- Windows 10: C:\Users\username\My Music\iTunes\
3.) Open your iTunes folder.
4.) Drag the "iTunes Library.xml" or "iTunes Music Library.xml" file to the Desktop. (This is your back up copy and should be kept until the process has fully completed and verified)
5.) Open iTunes
This process forces iTunes to create a new, fresh copy of your iTunes XML file.
Does this resolve the issue?
If you are still experiencing issues or if iTunes does not re-create the iTunes XML automatically, please read the following Apple discussion.
I have tried this but does not work. Please assist
@Theuns, please submit a support request into our helpdesk. We would be happy to investigate other options with you.
In general, if this procedure does not work, there is typically a deeper issue at hand. An easy method to isolate the issue would be to create a "temporary" new iTunes Library with a few songs to determine if TuneUp is able to function. If TuneUp functions, then there are deeper issues with your main library that will need to be resolved. More info about multiple libraries can be found here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1589?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US

Already tried rebuilding, an it was a brand new library anyway. I guess Tuneup is just not good at handling larger libraries? Perhaps that should be mentioned when selling it to people?
@Adamalphabet, I am working with you via your support request, however as mentioned in my previous message here... This issue is typically due to a larger issue and not sheer size of your library. There are several thousands of TuneUp users with libraries the size and larger than yours (40-60k) that are able to successfully sync with TuneUp.
Let's continue working through your support ticket to isolate the issue.

My iTunes library simply looks exactly the same as before. This program has caused nothing but stress.
I have a Library that is just over 960Gb. TuneUp is real finicky. But it has been becoming more consistent at NOT synching with my Library. Even after multiple attempts at re-building the Library XML file. When I start up TuneUp it runs the synch all the way to completion (it even appears to complete the synch and start working sometimes) but then it eventually errors out with this message: "TuneUpApp has stopped working... A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."
tuneup doesnt work with ios yosemite and itunes 12.0.1 yet? any idea when it will? i havent been able to use tuneup since the public release of yosemite and itunes 12.0.1

Unacceptable! I recently wanted to clean up my iTunes Library and purchased the Tuneup Software Lifetime License and come to find out that it is not compatible with OSX Yosemite. I initiated a support ticket on Friday and still have no response. I would like to use this software but if they cannot acknowledge when an update for Yosemite will be available, or fix the issue. I want my $40 back.
same problem..........still nothing, nothing works only universe
SOS !!!!!
Still waiting!!!!
This is ridiculous.
For this amount of money to organise music I expect a perfect service.
It was not mentioned anywhere that it would not work with Yosemite!!
I expect this problem to be fixed.
Otherwise money should be refunded for everybody who cannot use their software due to the problem with Yosemite.

Tweet to them. They are a little more responsive when you put them on blast.
I've just got an e-mail for a support case about this issue with OSX 10.10 and they finally answered:
Hello,
Thank you for your message.
We apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused you.
We are aware of the issue related to the Mac 10.10 and iTunes 12 update and we are working to deliver a new version as soon as possible.
Thank you for your patience and understanding,
TuneUp Support

@Beto: you need to write a request for this issue to the e-mail support alias and they will send you a link with an unsigned version of TuneUP working with OSX 10.10 and iTunes 12. This is a temp solution while they have to pass the Apple certification process.
I have a lifetime account, about year and half that I can use it properly, always appear errors in something now music not is can enter the program because "it does not support it," since it is supposed to be in another format. Honestly want back me my money, the little commitment and to update the program to repair all errors, currently Tuneup media is shit
Just got a instant response from support and they told me that version 2.5 is out and fixes the Yosemite and iTunes 12 compatibility issues. You can download it from the main page. http://www.tuneupmedia.com/download
Everything is working again. Wohoo!
