Dearest TuneUp User

We’ve received a lot of feedback from our users about frustration with TuneUp 3.0 and want to make sure you have the best possible TuneUp experience.

Long story short, the decision to release 3.0 was made by the previous management and since then a group made up of the founding team has acquired the TuneUp assets and is committed to make sure you are taken care of. See more here!

The good news is that we have a solid and easy solution for you.  We strongly suggest that you upgrade to the new version of TuneUp 2.6.1.  It’s very stable, fast and accurate and is sure to address all of your music organization needs.

READ THIS FIRST: If you currently have any version of TuneUp installed, please read more about uninstalling TuneUp here! It is necessary to remove all currently installed versions of TuneUp prior to upgrading to TuneUp version 2.6.1.

System Requirements can be found here

TuneUp for Windows: Download for Windows

IMPORTANT: Some users have trouble "applying" changes with TuneUp 2.6.1 after switching from a previous version. Please see the following article to ensure that TuneUp 2.6.1 is set to properly apply changes after installation.

Yes, like to many others, Version 3 was a nightmare and I also deleted it. Just downloaded 2.4.8 and it is working wonderfully. I was missing a lot of artwork that iTunes couldn't provide. Just updated the artwork and got just about all the artwork I was missing.
Thanks to all for making the effort and coming back. I really missed the program

This is wonderful news! I did the best I could with version 3 when I found out it was shutting down, but it did more harm than good. I'm redoing my library at this very moment with 2.4.8.

It would be nice though if a future update allowed us to clean our entire library (16k+) at once rather than only 1k at a time. The final release of version 3 finally handled that many songs at once, but it didn't have the control that this version has.

I never had much luck with 2.x - with almost 500,000 tracks in iTunes 2.x took 20-30 minutes at launch to go from "not responding" to working. And even "working" it got many "fixes" wrong and took lots of time in "not responding" mode trying to fix.

PLUS: you are missing a list of System Requirements for 2.4.8. Will it work with Mavericks 10.9.2? Buried deep is some support reference to Snow Leopard+ but I suspect that has not been updated in ages.

Does it work with the 2013 MacPro? Is it 64-bit?

Come on guys - these things need to be here with "Select the version for your OS."

I can't get this to install because I get the message "The operation can’t be completed because the item “TuneUpHelper” is in use." A restart and search for TuneUpHelper turned up nothing. What gives? I haven't been able to use TuneUp since upgrading to 2.4.6!

Fantastic! Congratulations on working through what must have been a frustrating and challenging period to acquire the TuneUp assets and restore the product to a functional version that people want to use.

I just installed v2.4.8. I then found that the malware Conduit Search Protect was installed on my system at the same time! This install is infected and I would be cautious about installing it. Very disappointed as Conduit is a pain to get rid of. I also contacted TuneUp support via email.

Runs like a dream, loaded my library in seconds, not days with v3.0 and first TuneUp was done another 15 seconds later. This is the product I paid for – outstanding, so glad it’s back again, if you cant make v2.48 better then keep it how it is, it works.

Now that we have the original team back on board I think TuneUp will simply be better than ever. Looks like management was not quite aware of what made a great TuneUp product. Glad to see the developers who built this in charge … way to go!

    You tell em Tim.

First day back in months, at least they are getting things back in order. Conduit is a horrible program so make sure when you download and install you pay close attention to which boxes you check.

Congratulations. Good Move. I stopped using it under 3.0, glad to be back!
When you do a major upgrade, as a IT professional, be careful next time.
Understand your users : Limits on library should not be for example.
Test it. Issue beta for a while and get feedback
    Cheers

Whats with the spamware that's included in the installer? Sonce when do you add that shit to paid programs?

  • Avatar
    Boro Cheryl

Steve Henry - I'm surprised nobody else is complaining about this. Conduit is a pain to get rid off once installed - it takes over your browser and doesn't cleanly uninstall.

Brendan hedley - I didn't see any option to deselect Conduit during the install. Did you?

When you guys ignored all my pleas for help I went with another companby to fix my songs, and now they are going out of business. I am glad you are back, but I am frustrated that my issues have gone on for months with not even a peep of recognition. I hope you are back for good and are able to fix whatever the issues were in the past.

I tried TuneUp 3 and had no luck. It took forever to do anything, pull down album art or tag recently added tracks. It was down-right useless in my case & some of the cool features like sharing you recently played tracks on Facebook was missing & annoyed the living daylight out of me. Moreover it seems the option to “rollback” to a previous version was not there.
I’ve just finished installing 2.4.8 & will give it a try. Had 2.4.6 before moving to 3.0 & 2.4.6 had the ability to share and post on my FB wall the 5 recently played tracks & the top 5 frequently played artist amongst other things from my library.
I hope the developers will release a beta versions first for testing rigorously before making a step-up version official & have a rollback option available in case we don’t like whatever will be released after 2.4.8.

I posted my above comment 2 hours ago then downloaded and ran the install. Since then, and still, on the Clean page is says "Syncing with iTunes" and "estimating time remaining."

So for TWO HOURS NOW the program is still trying to sync with iTunes. I'll let it run overnight. But this is not a good way to start off.

wow! thanks for all of your supportive comments! means so much to the team!

still some loose ends to clean up including looking into some of the installer issues mentioned above.

rest assured, we're listening loud and clear. as this team always has.

guys thanks so much for getting back to the basics of this program. I stopped using TuneUp when it went to version 3.0 and didn't correct my music but mislabeled it. I hope that going back to the old version makes this program great again!

  • Avatar
    Robert McLaughlin

It's been running all night now and still is trying to estimate the time remaining in the sync mode. Not impressed with this rollback yet.

    Landon Burns

Robert, my library has over 16,000 songs in it and it took less than a minute to sync with Version 2.4.8 (it took a few days with Version 3). It sounds like there is a problem with your installation.

I have 26k+ songs. I uninstalled the old version and reinstalled as they instructed. No luck. I had used "Rinse" after TuneUp went belly up and they fixed 90%+ of the songs in one run even adding artwork, but now they are going under too. So I'm back to TuneUp, and yes there are issues. But their tech supprt on what to do is seriously lagging.
