(note: this was originally reported in the release notes as 2.4.0, which is incorrect... the release version is 2.4.2)

v2.4.2 is a significant release that offers several new features and stability improvements:

• Improved stability throughout, including better performance for large collections
• Reduced memory use
• initial media player "Library Sync" has progress meter and time estimate
• Ability to detach TuneUp from iTunes and Windows Media Player
• You can now run TuneUp as an independent window or attached to your media player
• Updated user interface
• Improved status and progress messaging
• Progress Bars and time estimates for all major processes
• Better support for intermittent Internet connection timeouts
• Ability to pause and cancel all processing phases of Clean
• Ability to start and cancel Cover Art search
• Ability to cancel and pause all processing phases of DeDuper
• More helpful tips (lightbulb tips) throughout the application
• Clean results "bins" are closed by default on startup. See: "Matches" and Album Bins for description
• messaging and progress meter for the "Restoring Bins" process in the Clean tab.  This occurs when TuneUp is restarted 
• Better performance and memory use on larger collections- memory use for large collections
• New upgrade to Gecko 6.0.2 for the User Interface
• New installation screen for Mac OS
• UI improvements:
• Use of the "native" title bar in both Windows and Mac Os allows for more predictable behavior
• New, cleaner iconography
